800 m indoor results

Miles ahead! Yuriy Borzakovskiy celebrates as he finishes with a huge margin of victory in the 2001 World Indoor Championships in Lisbon. Using his trademark tactics of keeping a virtually even pace over the full distance he added the World title to his European Indoor title of the year before.

Yuriy's time in the final was an impressive 1:44.49, the 5th fastest time ever indoor. Wilson Kipketer is the only one who has ever ran faster, but after his two exceptionally fast times set at the World Indoor Championships in 1997, Yuriy now holds the next five fastest indoor runs of all time.
